Postoperative nausea and vomiting - Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is an unpleasant complication affecting about a third of the 10% of the population undergoing general anaesthesia each year. This equates to about two million people in the United Kingdom annually.

Cyclic vomiting syndrome - Cyclic vomiting syndrome (US English) or cyclical vomiting syndrome (UK English) (CVS) is a condition whose symptoms are recurring attacks of intense nausea, vomiting and sometimes abdominal pain and/or headache. CVS can affect both children and adults.

Exercise induced nausea - Exercise induced nausea is a feeling of sickness or vomiting which can occur shortly after exercise has stopped as well as during exercise itself. It may be a symptom of either over exertion during exercise, or from too abruptly ending an exercise session.

Emend - (aprepitant) is an antiemetic that can be used in conjuction with other antiemetic medications to prevent nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy in a condtion known as chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting or CINV. The drug is manufactured by Merck and Co.
